Wow. Just wow. A V-Amp through a Vetta II. Maybe his parents should've gotten him an MG10 or something instead.

NO! The best part was "I might get a Fender 2x12FM or maybe a Mesa."

Um...there's QUITE a difference in price/tone.

It's like saying "i might get a taurus or a Lexus ES300"

His parents probably got him a Dual Recto or something, and now he's happily running the V-Amp into the input

I had no idea what a good guitar sound was when I started, and it took quite a while to learn how to achieve it. My first amp was a Marshall MG15DFX and after a year I bought a Metal Zone, and I actually thought I had great tone. That sound would make me cringe these days

Too true! You only learn how to to use proper stuff by spending years trying to get good sounds out of less good stuff!

Agreed.

Man, I spent quite a long time with a little Laney SS combo, a cheap ass Digitech multieffects pedal, before getting a MT-2, and squeezing what I could out of that. Then I went and upgraded to the Mesa Boogie Nomad eventually.

It's all about squeezing what you can out of what you have at the time. I mean, I'm really happy with my current rig, but I probably wouldn't be as savvy as I am now without having to struggle with the cheap stuff in the beggining.

I do feel sorry for the kid who wrote that review though, he deserves our pity, not our scorn.

What a cocky bitch. 13 year olds suck.

I had to play through a 15 watt bass amp for about 2 years before I "upgraded" to a Crate (just to be able to be louder at band practice, not necessarily for tone purposes) and finally I am getting a 5150 with a Mesa 2x12" vert cab.

If my parents ever got me a Vetta II, I'd fucking worship them and love the fuck out of it.

Hell yeah

I keep dropping hints to my dad, but I don't think it's gonna happen. He's as broke as me.

Hell, when I was that age, ANYTHING I plugged into sounded like crap, so a Silvertone amp and a Hondo were fine...

Now, I've spent thousands of dollars to sound like ass.

Division - American metal that doesn't suck. Much. Even on MySpace, and Soundclick, too.

I've only spent a few hundred for my current rig. But I plan on spending thousands more one day. I think there's nothing quite like having good gear and not know how to set it up properly.
