8 & 16 ohm Question

8 & 16 ohm operation
Hey everyone I'm new to the board and was wondering if It would be possible to run two amps running at 8 Ohms into a stereo 16 ohm cab with left and right plugs obviously recently i've had a bad brain fade and cant seem to remember if this was possible. Its a Rivera Cabinet if that helps.

you would need the same variable amps, if they are the same exact amp, then yes

If they both have 16 ohm outputs there shouldn't be a problem.

If the cab is 16ohms mono and 8ohms a side stereo, yes.

Actually, a mismatch in that order will usually be just fine.

Speakers are NOT constant impedance (that's part of the definition of impedance actually...), it varies from 4-8 ohms to around 16-32 ohms for most speakers, although a guitar usually won't drive it at the extremes. The given impedance is usually a *nominal* impedance at some frequency, often 1kHz or so.
