![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Engl Amps, has anyone used........ An E-570 tube pre-amp or an E-670 Special Edition head (which contains the E-570). I'm looking into getting the rack pre-amp but want to get opinions on it first, before I go to the hassle of tracking one down and playing through it. So yeah, any Positives? Any Negatives? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Cheers man, I really need to find somewhere that I can try a E-570 I'm currently planning to keep hold of the 2112 as the effects in it are top notch and it's a really controllable unit. If I ever come round to selling it though, I'll give you a shout |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Nah, I've checked everywhere in Denmark street, the only Engls there are the Blackmore and a couple of Screamer combos. Given the fact that my PC fried itself last night though, this is now looking like it won't happen for a little while longer ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Funny you should mention that, the other week I took the ram out of mine to check what type it was and somehow managed to fry my motherboard ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I swapped cases with my Dad's machine as it's fried it's processor and the new powersupply necessitated by a new motherboard, chip and graphics card didn't fit his old case. My computer died in the process, but I got a comparable pc for £45 so I can't complain. Back on topic: Andy, don't suppose there's any chance you can persuade them to get one in for you to try out when you've got the cash again? |

![]() | i own an engl se e670 head after owning an engl fireball for 3 years.i would definitively go with the head,it sounds better and it's cheaper than the e570 with the NEW engl poweramp (the engl se has a brandnew designed poweramp..),which is about 2000€ here in germany. the SE has a completely new designed poweramp and a preamp based on the savage 120 series (which was used to design blackmore->fireball->powerball) and gets all great engl-sounds including the engl classic series (classic mode!) in one midi-switchable amp!! needless to say you have 2 parallel and 1 serial loop you can switch on and of (with midi) or switch between 2 seperate power-outputs to play, for example, distorted over an 4x12 and clean over an open back 2x10 cab.... the SE has even a bias-check system built-in,tube changes never been easier!you have lights showing you the voltage and 2 knobs to regulate them...and much more (like a multimeter built in for mesuring impedance of cabs you don't know, makes sense for gigs over other cabs) |
