Making my Axe fx Gig-ready?
ok so my band has a gig In a few weeks. (august 8th is our first show) so I need to finish getting gig ready fast. My rig is so far:
PRS Custom 24 (main guitar) Mim telecaster (backup with a dead bridge pickup) and my Axe Fx II. what are the essentials Ill need for a gig with the axe fx? My tele needs new pickups, so I have to factor that in too. Im thinking Im going to grab a Berhinger FBC1010 and add the Uno chip and maybe a phantom power mod later on, make a trip to the US, to grab an Alto TS112a and then order a set of EMG TX pickups or should I try to cough up the money for a Ground Control Pro right away? |

all you really need is the axe fx unless you are very picky about your monitoring situation. just go direct.

Depends. I'm in the EXACT same situation as a friend from church asked me to play in their service. I thought eh, why not. I had NOTHING except the AxeFX really, so I just brought it. Luckily they had monitors and I didn't exactly NEED to do any switching, so I just picked a slightly overdriven tone for the whole thing. So start by asking yourself, do I NEED a MIDI controller to controller everything for this gig? Because if you can get away with using the AxeFX and maybe some real pedals to get by, do that so you can save money and buy what you REALLY need later. If the venue has monitors, don't get 'em just yet.
