Re-Tubing my Fireball 60
The time has come to re-tube my beloved Engl Fireball 60. Having replaced the tubes by a "professional" not too long ago (8 months or so ago). I think I can figure this out on my own.I had asked the local tech to take away some the gain and replace it with clarity. While he had certainly done that, I never really connected with the new tube setup. So I am going to be switching back to the over-the-top-never-need that-much-gain setup again.I know that the main difference in tone would be found in the preamp tubes (at least I think so), which I have 4 of. V4 which is my input, V5 and V6, my gain stages, and V7 my inverter. Would I just have to replace V5 and V6 to add more gain and balls to my rig again? Of course any help would be greatly appreciated, and if anyone can recommend which tubes to buy, that would also be well received. Thanks
