![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think the best thing to do with the voodu is to first, run through all the patches and find a good distortion that you like. Run through that with the edit function to see what all the parameters are set to, and then make your own based on those as a starting point. Tweak till satisfied and you have you're own sound. Then, write down all the settings somewhere! Repeat process for a good clean. From there you can take either your distortion sound, or clean and make other ones based off those. Like say you have a dry clean...then make another clean with delay and reverb. Make a distortion with octive divider, and so forth, all based off of you're own sound. Also, I found that it had a better sound when ran through my mesa single recto rather than the QSC power amp I had. The power amp/pre amp setup was pretty sterile. Man, this makes me want to send mine in to Rocktron to have it fixed. It only worked for a very short time, and it had no warranty card in the box....it was a blem from the factory. FUCT. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | fuck, thats rough man, but I'll try that with the presets. Are they similar to the old chameleon ones, because I've had some of them recommended to me |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've never played with the chameleon personally. The reason I got the voodu was because I had heard the original chameleon(with the lizard)...It was the scooped mid death metal cannibal corpse bleeding sound I was trying to get, at that time. When doing research though, the voodu had a pre and post parametric eq, and I think it has more dely options as well? But pre / post signal eq was the seller for me when comparing the two. I've been told that they are extrememly similar sounding units though, so if you're familiar with the chameleon...you should be able to rock the voodu as well! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | sounds cool, I want something that can do everything. My band plays a kind of thrashy power metal (think Helloween (Walls era) and Demons and Wizards having a scrap with broadswords...but I like to fuck about with sounds, especially the EVH eruption/ Azagthoth where the slime live kinda sounds... ...oh, and I reckon on picking up an FCB1010 for it? Good idea? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | As above, the tube's about the only difference. An FCB1010 will work brilliantly with it, and you can download patches and a patch editor from the Rocktron site, but you'll need either a soundcard with a midi out or a usb to midi interface to make it work. Sorry I never sorted the powersupply on my Chameleon, but if you want a backup the Voodoo Valve power supply works for the Chameleon too and the patches are pretty much interchangable. |
