Hartke GT100c - any good?

http://www.samsontech.com/products/p...1793&brandID=3

I've heard pretty good things about this amp, especially in regards to what you get for the price ($690 AUS). It has a valve preamp with a solid-state poweramp, I'm not sure which speakers come in the combo but it's available as a head as well as far as I know.

The thing is, I live in the middle of nowhere, and while I can have the local guitar store rotate stock from their other stores I'm pretty much obliged to buy anything I might get them to bring in. Does anyone have a general ballpark of how this amp actually sounds or where I might be able to hear it? The site doesn't have soundclips and I can't think of anyone who actually uses a Hartke guitar amp, I didn't even know they made them until recently.

Thanks!

Brett89 is just really niceBrett89 is just really nice
What does it mean that it's got a Tube pre-amp?

I mean it's got a better tone or what? It's between solid state and tube amp sound?

And is there a warm up time like at the all tube amps?

And one more.... Is it true that tube amps are more dark sounding?

Thank you!

It means it has.....wait for it.......a tube preamp.

I kinda doubt it's that stellar of a sound just because of the tube in the preamp. It might warm it up a little, but I'd rather have a tube power amp and solid state pre.

Probably not, no.

No.
