NMD(New Modeler Day)!! - Line 6 Pod X3 Pro

Well, with this unit I take my first step in to the world of amp modelers. I got this for such a good deal I couldn't pass it up. I got it used for $300 plus shipping. On the ad it said is was in used condition but let me tell you, this unit is ....ing immaculate. It must have been in a rack case all its life. I'm also putting in an order for a 4 space gator case rack so I can put this and a transparent EQ in there later on. For now though, it will just chill on my desk or on the floor :p

Anyways...

So did I score or what? Oh right also.. what the hell software do I use for this thing? I saw tone direct in a couple videos or pod farm or something. Anybody recommend some stuff for me to use? Not trying to record with it just yet, I just want to .... around with it first.

Thanks for looking!

lol, it's pretty big dude. It takes up 3 rack spaces I do believe. It's built like a ....ing tank though, it's all metal except for the knobs and the LCD screen. I'm not really complaining.

Yeah I hear ya. The size wasn't a deal breaker for me though. For it's size, it's actually really light. I think it's like 8 or 9 lbs actually.

Awesome dude! I've already been playing around with some settings and presets that were already stored on this from the previous owner. I must say, even on my shitty little logitech speakers this thing sounds incredible! I can't wait to get my Alto TS112A to see what it's like going through a really nice speaker.

Anyways, definitely. Once I figure this thing out and have it dialed in the way I like it, I will post some clips.

Am I the only one that's bothered by the fact that the edge of the unit is not even with the edge of the desk?!

jk, good score man. Big fan of Line 6's stuff, though they sound better running through a power amp than direct...

Direct? You mean through regular shitty computer speakers? I'm buying an Alto TS112A tomorrow! Looking forward to seeing how it sounds then.

Naw, I mean like running it into a DAW for recording purposes.

And I tried the TS112A with my HD Pro and wasn't very pleased with the results. Maybe it's me being so used to how a power amp and speak/cab color the sound, but I didn't like it at all. Not saying you won't like it, but do keep your receipt handy just in case.

You mean they sound better live then using for recording purposes? Idk.. I hear the opposite actually lol.. I've heard some incredibly clear and high quality recordings from the X3's and the HD Pro's..
