New Axe-FX II Day!!
I've already done some tracking. All I have to say is holy shit... You don't have to fight with it in the mix like other modelers. VERY impressed. Some of the presets are insane. I've never heard detailed effects like that. This thing really is no joke. I believe my amp GAS may have come to an end.

Congrats!!
I've built about 6 patches I'm already super happy with, and I have only used 3 amp models so far! This thing is really amazing. |

Got mine last week, and I agree: it's amazing. Even through my relatively low-end monitors (Behringer Truth series), they sims are orders of magnitude better than the ones on my POD X3.

I've really only focused on a good clean tone and a good crunchy tone so far. I can add FX pedals in the chain for other sounds. But my sets on your this fall are going to be centered around a simple signal chain that I can pull FX in and out of with the MFC-101 and a good volume pedal.

Congrats!
I love mine, I go thru my Rokit K-8's or my mesa 50/50 out to 2-2X12 cabs. with VM 7.0 I absolutly love it thru the power amp->cabs tonight is the first time I turned the cab sims back on in about 2 weeks and used the rokits, I've been having so much fun going out to real cabs and being able to go from a Recto to mark IV to a super lead to a JVM to a Cornford to a Soldano SLO to a 5150 II and actually have the feel and sound of the modeled amp (before 7.0 it just wasn't there, for me anyway) it's ....ing endless fun. I can't wait the new Fryette power amp to be released. Axe Fx II in da house

I love it thru a Power amp, the Mesa 50/50 sounds great but it does make everything sound like it's going thru a Mesa power amp. not a bad thing all of my patches sound very good, but they all have a bit of a similar flavor to them. I'm going to either grab the new Fryette XLII that is coming or an older VHT 2502. Those are more neutral and still add the "shimmer and girth " that I love from a tube power amp. Right now I have a 2X12 recto cab and a Legacy 2X12 that has a V30 and an H30 in it. adds more dimension to the sound and really works well with my Cameron/HBE/JVM type patches, more balanced than just the V30's that I had going. for recording and playing thru monitors you've got to get the OH and RedWirez IRs , they are very inexpensive and the Cab IRs make or break a lot of the patches with the Axe II. the stock IRs are OK , the ones you guys stomp all over them. (IMO) I've heard good things about the Engl and an Axe II paired up. I'd give it a try Axe Fx II in da house
