Vader cabs
I don't see much talk about Vader cabs anymore. I liked my 2X12 when I had it. Are they not decent with 8 strings? I also seem to notice that Earcandy seemed to disappear. If these aren't in favor with 8s, what are the good 8 string cabs? Both 2x12 and 4x.
If it's good enough for Tom Morello, it's good enough for me. Women are like Voltron. The more you hook up, the better it gets...

My 2x12 carnage strain sounds great with my 8. I guess there is just nothing new to say about them. I've been trying to source a local 4x12 to replace one of my cabs.

They are way too bassy for such low tunings, IMO. Anybody who thinks Vader cabinets sound good hasn't recorded with them.

true, very bassy and a pain to record in the studio, you have to play really loud and choose the right mics and positioning, to my ears a marshall 1960 sounds way more alive and crisp...

I use a carnage strain 4 x 12 with my 8 string. It's not overtly bassy in my opinion. A Mesa 4 x 12 seems to pack more in the low end.
