NAD
Had it on layaway since last summer. Being that I already have 2 (a black halfstack and ivory halfstack) I needed this like a hole in the head but I couldn't resist it. If I didn't get it someone else would have. Ivory 5150 III signed by the man himself when he came into Guitar Center back in 07'. My buddy is a manager and gave me the heads up they were going to sell it.

congratz, ive been wanting one for so long now, only thing i dont like is that its not midi controllable.
If your an eddie fan i can post up eddies live settings for you if you dont already have them, a while back i went to see van halen live and i talked to one security gaurd and he was nice enough to go write down where all the knobs were set on the amps he was using. |

This one is one of the first several made it's #000487 it's got the original Sovtek power tubes in it and the original mix of Sovtek 12ax7's and EH 12ax7's. My other two are serial #'s 2017 and 3844 and both have JJ's in the power but one has the JJ's in the pre and the other one has the original mix of Sovtek and EH in the pre amp section. I'll be curious to see if this one sounds any different. I'm thinking about buying some spray can type of clear coat I could spray over that area. Anybody have any thoughts about what type or brand I could use over the autographed area of the amp that won't harm the tolex in some way?

I'm thinking any kind of clear coat would yellow the ivory tolex. Guess I should just stick the amp cover on it and leave it be. Play it now and then too keep it in good working order.

Awesome man. I really miss my 5150 III. It rules that it's signed by the man! Since you have two already, put a cover on this one and save that signature!

Hey nice amp man
I gotta ask, and i'm not asking this to be a dick, just purely curious, why get the same amp when you already have 2? I can't imagine buying the same amp when there's so many goodies out there to try and get my hands on and have different tones in my arsenal....Probably just a different mentality but again, i'm curious.

Lol! Excellent question. I know it looks pretty crazy to have 3 of the same amp. Originally when I bought the 2nd it was to just have as a backup. My 1st one had to be put in the shop and I had to revert back to my original 5150 and I didn't like it so I got another one for backup. Then I thought it would be really cool to have the exact same rig at rehearsal and at home for practice and gigging so I bought another G -System so I could have the exact same rig at both places and my lower back loves me for it. Lol! The autographed amp was purely for selfish, unneeded, stupid reasons. I just wanted it. I had to have it. I tried to talk my self out of it. I needed a 3rd one like a hole in the head but my brain was having nothing to do with it. My wish to have an autographed amp of a child hood hero overuled my mind.

Gotcha man, i can follow the reasoning for sure, especially the part about not lugging the damn thing around. Enjoy!
