also, that album is a great example of how to engineer drum sounds. The kicks are sound-replaced (triggered), but they still sound real. I can't stand all this fake drum sounds in your face at 10000% volume bullshit that's going on these days (see Into Eternity, for example).

Rutan also layers Marshall TSL and modded Marshall Artists to get that sound too, the latest Hate Eternal DVD goes into alot detail about that, methinks he re-amps like crazy (since he reps Andy Sneap as "someone he quite admires") but don't quote me.
