I found a deal on a 6505+...
For me its either Bugera 6262 or Peavey 6505+...
I have to figure all the stuff about the 6505+ very soon (as it is a craigslist offer xD) I know the Bugera have 4 tubes, and the 6505+ has 6 power tubes and 4 preamps (maybe that is backwards) so does this mean I'd need to replace 10 different tubes? is $850 for a like new 6505+ a good price in your opinions? I know I had a few more questions that I forgot, but I'll edit them as they come to me. Like I said trying to find out quickly so I can give the guy an answer. Thanks so much. \m/ My Band: www.facebook.com/AshesOfRebirth My Soundcloud: (riffs and song ideas) www.soundcloud.com/iRaiseTheDead My Design Page: www.facebook.com/RaiseTheDeadDesign |

how old is the 6505+? If it's like 2 or 3 months and hasn't had a lot of use, then I'd think that would be fair, But if it's like 2 years old, but in good condition, then the price is a high for me

$850 is a bit much methinks.
The 6505 is not BETTER then the plus. That's like saying Granny Smith apples are better then golden delicious. It's preference. The regular 6505 is darker and looser. 650 for a regular 6505 is a good price. |

I wouldn't pay more than $700 for any 5150/6505 variant. There are tons of them on the used market.

Either way, I think it's safe to say that the Peavey is a better choice than the Bugera..

![]() EDIT: He had it posted on CL for $700, I was able to get him to knock off $100

I'd pass on it then. I bought my last 6505 for $700 WITH an amp/rack roadcase. The amp was 6 months old at the time.

No one will buy that, he'll get bummed, then you come along and get later for a reasonable price. I just payed 300 for a 5150II the other day.

There are barely any 6505's on Ebay anymore :/
and craigslist there are none. I found an out of state one by accident (the $850) \m/ My Band: www.facebook.com/AshesOfRebirth My Soundcloud: (riffs and song ideas) www.soundcloud.com/iRaiseTheDead My Design Page: www.facebook.com/RaiseTheDeadDesign |

Check out guitarcenter.com's used section if you're not having luck with craigslist or ebay. I just checked and they have multiple 6505s/5150s. They're shipping isn't unreasonable and I think you can have them ship to the guitar center closest to you for much less or even free. Maybe there's even one in a store near you used. Be willing to travel a little too. If it's a good deal and it's something you really want then a 2-3 hour drive is well worth it and it gives you a larger area to consider for gear.

Two minutes yeilded several results for something that seems to be within what you want. 5150/6505's that are under $800. Some of them say "best offer" so it doesn't hurt to offer $700 and see what they say. Good luck!

Also, keep an eye out for broken 5150s, a common problem is screen resistors going bad, and it is a fairly cheap endeavor to get it fixed by a tech. Or find which one is bad, and just run it at 60 watts.
The one I bought was just had some shitty preamp tubes. |

Look there, and you can find great deals. They do normally charge for shipping and taxes, if they have a store in your state. Ask enough questions, and you can answer anything. |

None of the ebay links worked :/
And if I can come up with reasons/facts to bring down the guy he will probably drop the price a little \m/ My Band: www.facebook.com/AshesOfRebirth My Soundcloud: (riffs and song ideas) www.soundcloud.com/iRaiseTheDead My Design Page: www.facebook.com/RaiseTheDeadDesign |

I just found one on my used guitarcenter (the one that is about a 10 minute drive from me) I can't believe i forgot the used section of gc -.- but I found a 6505+ for 699.99
I clicked the "contact store" where I wrote a nice little email about it. I've never used the contact store option before. Will they email and hold for me?

All you have to do is give your credit card info over the phone after they look you up in the system and you're good to go! One thing to note is that their shipping charges are absolutely ridiculous (in a good way). On our end, UPS would charge about $70 for a cross country ship, but for GC it's like $10 bucks (at least for guitars). Hell, I returned on once and they gave me the shipping charge back! As a tag on to this idea, if you don't like GC and want to stick it to them...order a used guitar and then return it and keep the packing materials. You normally get a nice ULine box and plenty of packing peanuts, which, if you bought at a packing store, might run you like $25 bucks! I am offensive and I find this Christian. $800 is definitely too much, considering what I got mine for. I say just go down to GC and see whats up. Just be patient, good deals come along every now and then broseph.
