Changing your preamp tubes to Electro Harmonix "High Gain" tubes, give you more GAIN?
I just recently got a Laney ProTube 50 head and im not getting the amount of gain I want so I was wondering if anyone can help me out by answering my question. Thanks to anyone for helping me.

I've got Hi gain JJ's in my B-52 At 100 and I don't know if I got "more" gain but it wure sounds smoother thatn it did with the Electro harmoniz tubes that it came with.

Yeah I have heard good results from people using the JJ tubes whether it be the low gain or hi gain sets. So yes switchiing to a "hi" gain tube set should work.

switch to JJ's then boost it with an OD pedal and make sure your guitar has some hot pups in it...if you still need more gain, buy a different amp

I went from the regular ECC83s to the high gain ECC83s. The GH50L has a shit load of gain to begin with, and I really didn't notice any increase in gain. Honestly, they sound the same to me.

I'm a JJ user too. I don't use a hell of a lot of gain, but I picked up both the high gain and the "blues" set they offer and compared the two - the high gain gives a slight gain boost, true, but it also sounds a touch fuller and smoother, and made the lower gain tones more useable - the "blues" set was edgier and crunchier, and a little cleaner. Not quite what I was looking for, so high gain it was.
