Small time amp companies? (like Madison)

So are there any amp companies like Madison left? Just wondering since there always seem to be small guitar companies coming and going, but not really with amps.

Google "custom amps" and "boutique amps" you'll find dozens of smaller builders and shops.

New amp builders pop up all the time.

Besides me, the ones that I know of that do good high gain amps are fortin and peters. I'm sure there are plenty more out there...just about every mid sized city has at least one.

I feel like they would be great for some dirty screaming grind as well! If anyone knows anymore info about these amps I am really interested in them now.

Tried one of these sitting in my local shop, easily the fizziest amp I've ever played, more fizz than your usual solid state amp. You could turn the gain down to almost being clean, have the treble etc at 0 and it would still be fizzy.

^aww bummer. I never Have Tried one. Loved the amount of options it gives you efx loop wise and such. And the Saturation gauge was pretty cool. wondered if itd be good. Didnt seem aimed towards metal though.

so I got in contact with dave at navtone and he said the heads are 1000$ a pop, seems like a pretty good deal for a 100%hand made head with some crushing tone.

There are plenty as stated, depends on the kind of price you are looking at. Madison was lower-midrange. They were good, though. But guys like Fortin and Titan are high dollar, high end shiz. You get what you pay for though!

Not sure if this is what you're looking for. They aren't high gain amplifiers necesarilly, but they are mostly custom work shops
