Bulb, I believe he got the Nobels ALEX-1 - it's about €45 last time I checked. That's the one him and I talked about before, at least.

Honestly - I found two ways of doing my live cleans with the 5150. I did the first for a bit... run your guitar into a splitter, one end into the OD/amp or whatever, the other end into a POD. POD into FX loop in, and plug one end of a cable into the FX out (leave the other end unplugged). With this, I could then hit the fx loop on/off to switch between the POD preamp and 5150 poweramp or the 5150 straight. This, however, voids you of an FX loop on the dirty channel - I didn't mind, but I'm sure you would.

The other way, and the way I'll definitely be doing it once I get back going live, is a GT-6 in the 4-cable method.

I love the idea of going 4 cable method but is there a reasonably priced current multieffects floorboard with more than 1 relay for controlling an amp?

My Engl screamer really needs 2 relays for switching between the 4 "channels"

It's not a pedal - it's a Nobels Alex-1. They turn up on eBay fairly often for reasonable prices - I think I paid $25 for mine - and I already had an open relay in my Axess CFX-4 to control it with.

As for cleans, my Triple gets me more than good enough tones for live use. In the studio, I can set it however I want to get a good clean tone - or just borrow a twin.

Most guys who are real sticklers use two amps, but let's be real - I play clean for make two minutes during a Division set. That hardly makes carrying two amps worth it.

Correct.

Division - American metal that doesn't suck. Much. Even on MySpace, and Soundclick, too.

Isn't that basicly the In Flames setup?

Trust your ears.

In life and music, what is is but that doesn't always mean it's what it should. Change, is in our hands.

Jerich, are you kidding me?!?

You have a TriAmp! That clean channel is fucking amazing! Sparkle and smooth like no other. And it's non-master volume so it doesn't break up no matter how hard we push it.

Agreed 100%. The Roland Jazz Chorus will always be the ultimate clean sound to me. I have always loved the pristine clean sound of a totally solid state amp. I'm just not trying to drag an army of gear on stage, since opening for national acts doesn't give me a lot of room.

This is the only thing I miss about my Line6 gear. The cleans just sounded so much better to me.

Only if I had the money. I've wanted one for years, but could never justify the cost for the little amount I would use it.

Yeah, I know. It doesn't have to be perfect, since it hardly gets used. I'm just anal. Plus, my rig is so simple now, and I have nothing to play with. I have this itch to buy shit and shove into my rack, because I'm a guitarist, it's what I do. I looked at Roger's rack, and got jealous, because I want more blinky things.

Apparently my plan has worked... Muahahahahahaha

Ever think about getting a MIDI switcher and just running a direct signal into a SS poweramp without a preamp?
