I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

I've run it direct, never really cared for it. I'm going to let the producer/engineer deal with the EQ settings, we can basically fuck with it until I get a sound that I like.

I dig Vince's album, but my tone and his are very different. (imo the SITA rhythms are a little over-processed sounding for my tastes)

I had a 2101 but sold it. I should have paired it up with a decent tube rack amp before I did though. I'm sure it wouldn't have sounded so sterile.

I had a 50/50 for a short while, and didn't really like it compared to my SS Peavey power amp.

I really like Vince's rhythm sound, but my lead preferences are quite different. You really ought to try out the EQ settings he uses after the cab sim. They are designed to improve the cab sim effect, rather than to get a specific sound. He uses a G Major to do it, and I use the EQ strip in my board, but either way it makes a big difference in your recorded sound. My 2101 through that EQ sounds nothing like my Chameleon through the same EQ settings. In fact, I was able to nail some heavier AC/DC rhythm tones by using that EQ in combo with the Saturated Tube gain on the 2101, which is the first time I ever got anything useful out of the 2101 tube gains going direct.

Interesting, I had a Tubeworks MV-962 and I didn't like it at all. I'd almost like to try it again with a tube poweramp like a peavey 60/60.
