Can an NS-2 be used in the loop and in front at the same time?

Well? I have a Decimator right now and it works wonders for keeping my guitar quiet when I'm not playing but I'm getting some bad hum from within my Racktifier. If I put the Decimator in the loop the hum goes away but of course my guitar won't shut up. Rather than buy another seperate pedal for the loop I was wondering if an NS-2 can work like this? Anybody used it like this before and have any input on how it affects the tone if at all?

granted money doesn't grow on trees, but it sounds like the pro g rack
decimator would be perfect for that situation...but I don't see why the
boss wouldn't work...you should certainly try it especially if you already
have the boss laying around

the NS-2 can be used like that but if your loop is too loud (ie. line level) the pedal won't work right, i know cause i have one and i tried to do it with my amp and it didn't work right, it doesn't reduce the noise and there is a drastic drop in volume and a muddied tone the signal is just too much for the pedal. im gonna have to get a rack noise gate so i can use it on the loop.

I don't have a boss and as much as I'd LOVE to have a pro rack-g It just can't be done on the funds I have right now. It's in the plans I have one rack space left and that's what I think I want to put in there.

So do you think the adjustable levels on the recto would work alright with it?

i can't remember how the levels on the recto work but it can't hurt to try, i hope it is a level control and not a dry/mix control cause then all u'd be doing is sending part of the signal to get processed through the noise gate.

guitar into NS-2 input. NS-2 send to recto input, recto fx send to NS-2 return. NS-2 output to recto's FX return.

4 cable method ftw!

Nah... found anything in the loop of those things to kill the tone, even if just a bit. That, and the NS-2 does add a touch of slightly artificial high end when in the loop.

I always just used it infront of amps to kill feedback and hum from idle pickups - the hiss of the amps was always tolerable with sane gain levels.
