![]() ![]() ![]() | If you are going for that super squeaky clean sound, there is nothing better. If the words you use to describe a good clean sound include any of the following: sparkly transparent shmmery lush full crystalline etc... Then there is a fair chance that it's the amp for you. However, with the aside of random tone/"niche" type distortions, they are far from useful for distortions. I never managed a decent "main" type distortion from one with pedals, rack, etc. It's just not made for that sort of thing. Be sure you have something else for sounds other than super clean ![]() If/when I have the funds and means to go with a true dual amp setup, that will be the next amp I buy. (Between a MkIII and a Chameleon, I um...have distortions covered ) |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I dont know...It does clean, and it does clean. It may be a waste of money for you really. What do you want to do with it? I mean, are you planning to record with it, or play live? Like, I don't know if you are familiar with Between the Buried and Me, but one of their guitar players switches from a Mesa Dual Racktifier to the JC for clean. You could do it like that, but I think its excessive to switch to a JC for clean when you are running EMG81's through a solid body ibanez you know? They sound kick ass if you have a semi-hollow 335 style or a full jazz box for sure! |

There really is no greater clean sound in the entire world. Lots of guys that you'd never think of use it for their cleans. James Hetfield and Adam Jones immediately spring to mind. ![]() ![]() | They're great amps and if you're looking for a dedicated clean amp, it's hard to beat the JC120 (other than a nice fender style) I use a JC120 head for my cleans:![]() mJ |
