Yeah i know - go out and listen to them both.....but the gt is so hard to try out - I knoe some nice tones can be had from it if i just had some time!!!!! what do you guys reckon? running into a tube poweramp btw. ![]() | It depends on what you need. Do you need many sound? I personally would go with the Voodoo Valve preamp, because I have no faith at all in boss GT products when it comes to real amp sound. |

The presets aren't all that bad, and they give you a good sense of the range that's available. And just about everything tone-related can be tweaked on the front panel. It's only when you get into deeper programming and bizarre effects where you need to have your thinking cap on. And even then, it's pretty logical. |

See, to me, that the problem with the GT-8. When the GT-5 was released, it was hands down the best sounding modeller out there, with the gt-8 IMO the basic sounds aren't that much different (although the routing has been greatly improved...and this is not to say that it ever sucked, as routing for the GT/GX series has always been its string suit). Since the gt5 came out in the MID 90's, the COSM technology IMO, has not improved. This is a problem. By comparision, with Line 6, every generation of their modelling technology has sounded better than the previous. | |
