![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | JJ's tubes all round, including E34L's in the power section. Biased extremely hot, would have been right at 70% dissipation (56mA so I'm told, so the plate voltage must have been about 370?). It was quite audible with the volume on zero. There might have been other tweaks too, I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure some components need to be changed to safely run E34L's in Peaveys, so the values may have been altered too. Did it have the stock transformer, Kosta? This thing sounded 10x better than any 5150 I've heard before, or since. EDIT: E34L's are a 25W tube, so 56mA would be about 70% of Max. Plate Dissipation at 220V. So either that amp had only 220V plate voltage (not likely), or it was biased way hotter than anyone recommends, or the 56mA thing isn't correct. |

![]() | despite the fact i owned this amp - dan knows 1000 times more about it than i do..... I have no idea what hux did to it - aside from the fact it was not the same when it returned - it was a monster. i have no idea about the transformer and such - all i know is this - running on zero - the amp was as loud as a home stereo. My parrot will kick your ass |
