Mesa Boogie F-30 Questions

I have been looking at all kinds of tube combos recently, and have decided on the F-30. But the cheapest in the UK I can get one is around £870, brand new. Which is a pretty good deal for a Mesa on the UK market. But I figured it would be far cheaper to get one from the US and get it shipped over. I figured there would be no problem in that right? All I would need is some kind of step-down transformer for the voltage difference.

Anyway, my main question for the USA guys here is, where would be the best place to go to order one new? I have thought about going the "used" route because I would save money obviously. But there are'nt many people willing to send a tube combo overseas.

I just wondered what the best way to go about it would be, overall?
Order one from the US and save money, or just order from the UK?

Thanks for any help guys.

List for the head is $899 and for the combo is $949 if that helps. No clue on how much import fees and whatnot costs, but I'm willing to bet it would be $100+. Also, you'll need a step up transformer for the 110v to work where ya live.

Thanks.
Well at $949 list for the combo, that converts to around £507 roughly. Which even with shipping costs, taxes and whatnot on top, would still be a pretty good saving. And $949 is the list price too, so a better deal may be found. Its definitely worth me looking into more.

Anymore info would be great.
Especially if any of you have experience in this situation.

Nope. With Mesa, list price is what you pay. If they catch a dealer selling bel;ow list they'll terminate their dealership.

I don't have any experience on shipping, but if you're willing to buy via ebay, you can get them for about $600. For a little more though, you could get a Mark III, which IMO, is a better amp. They generally go for about $700.

Ah thanks Drew, I never knew that. As I said before though, with a list of $949 it would still come out much cheaper than paying the UK list price for it.

And I am very willing to buy via Ebay. But finding someone who is comfortable shipping an awkward/heavy item like a tube combo overseas is going to be difficult. And finding a "used" example in good condition at a good price at the same time. I will just have to keep my eyes peeled I suppose if I want to save ££££.
