BBE Sonic Maximizer

My friend told me that he used this on his rig and it made a HUGE difference in sound. i definitely am getting one, but i dont know how to hook it up to the effects loop on my amps. And I dont really know which one to get. I have a 5150 and a Krank Rev 1. which one of the BBE Sonic maximizer models would best suit me? and how would i hook it up? It's not hard to give an answer, but it's easier to search and find an instant answer, rather than wait for responses.

thnx for your response. i just want to know which particular one would be best. all the results im getting are reviews on sonic maxes in a more general aspect. i just want to know the benefits of each. more between the 382 and the 482 seeing as these would be best for guitar rig applications.

sorry dude im in a funk atm.
i used to use a sonic stomp with my 5150 60w combo and it made a huge diffrence to me.
one of those thing where you only really notice how much it helps when you turn it off.
i currently have a blackstar ht-5 and the bbe didnt do much for it, so i sold it to a mate.

I think you'll have mixed results with the bbe's. I found that it sounds like its helping your tone out at first, but when recording or playing live, it sort of sucks the mojo out. Almost like scooping your mids, it sounds cool at first until you are playing in a mix, then you disappear.

Maybe not what you want to hear but I think you'd be better off with an eq for your loop instead.

My experience is based on one, a 382i I think, that I sent back after a few days a year or so ago.

It's not that looking up links is hard; it's that you should be doing the search yourself. It's quicker and easier than posting a new thread, and it doesn't clutter things up so much later on for people who do use the search. You also could have Googled it and gotten quicker answers.

They do wonders for a lot of SS amps that lack character and usually don't do a whole lot for tubes amps, especially once cranked. You can have find a million videos of some jabroni playing by himself turning a maximizer on/off, which doesn't sound as drastic or worthwhile in a band setting.
