![]() ![]() | Is it silly to get excited about guitar picks? yes ... i am posting about pics ... how queer. local shop was out of loose picks ... so i had to buy a packaged set of picks. guy at the counter was like what do you like? i say heavey claytons (the white acetal polymers) and he hands me these ibanez signature steve via picks - http://ibanez.com/accessories/spec.asp?m=111 so i'm like ... sure ... why not ... it's like $3 ... and under anyother circumstance i wouldn't bother. i've never been impressed by picks before ... this pick has a similar feel to dunlop tortex but it kinda feels like stone, it's harder and has a pointy end ... i can't describe it but to say it's coolest pick i've ever used and feels like perfect. the tiny bit of edge on this picks rules too ... i dunno ... i guess i'm a geek but if you like heavy picks ... give these a try. best $3 i've spent on my music playing. 1 thing though ... i've had to excercise a bit of restraint in my picking style ... these are string rippers. |

![]() | I've tried those and I still keep one around. I love them but I forced myself into not using them so that I get used to the normal ones. Otherwise if I have to use a friend's pick or something I'm screwed. -Freddie ![]() |

![]() | I love my Jazz IIIs, I've got a bunch in red and about 6 in black at the moment. Strangely, their the smallest picks I've ever used yet the only ones I haven't lost yet (I've kept them all for 3 weeks now). |

![]() | yeah, Vai picks definitely rock. They are my main picks for most more aggressive styles. I had a quite similar experience when i first tryed them, i was just blown away by the feel. The sharper tip gives them a very light feel of picking, since there's less pick actually touching the strings, so there's less friction to handle(at least when you only use the topmost amount of the pick like i do), plus they have great attack and nice balanced sound. Great picks imo. But be warned, if you have a heavy right hand and like diggin into the strings, you won't like them the longer tip of the pick will require you to keep that extra length from dragging on the strings. They are designed for a light right hand and suing only the tip of the pick. |
