EdgeCrusher is just really niceEdgeCrusher is just really nice
They suck, very trebley, scratchy, and muddy sound. Check out the Vox valvetronix line, way better and not much more $. I got my 100watt head for $320 and my Ibanez cab for $200 and it slays.

Yeah, you'll definately want to pass on that.. its about the same quality as a 2-300$ crate combo amp.

Never liked Crates. You should definitely save up for something good.

7StringofAblicK-This is my footswitch. it changes channels on my amp - just like on a television, but I only have four channels.

Like what?lol
I need something that's pretty good but not too much money, seeing as I don't really have the funds right now.

That was the only thing I could find around the $500 range.

A peavey valve king 212 would OWN that crate halfstack in terms of tone and headroom. Don't be fooled by combo's...i use a head and a 212 cab now and it's PLENTY (but i used combo's my whole music career thus far and NEVER had a problem).

For $550, check out the Valve king...or, not to solicite, but i do have a Peavey XXX 212 combo for sale; $620 shipped in the CONT US. My other guitarist uses one and it is wicked loud.

Just my $0.02

+1 on the valve king, its a cool amp, though its just not for me, its got a good sound to it. And yeah, i'd suggest saving up for a decent combo. I just bought a 5150 combo and it owns n00bs raw. If you already got 550, you could probably save up another 1-200$ and buy a 5150 combo off ebay. You can also look at Mesa combos in that price range (F-30, F-50, .22 Studio, DC-50, etc, etc). A 50-60 watt tube combo is LOUD AS FUCk. i cant turn my 5150 up past 4 without wanting to put in protective ear plugs.

Also, i'd suggest the ibanez ToneBlaster head if you want sometihng cheap, loud and solid state. with the right settings, it soudns really thrashy. you can get them around 500-600 for the Head+4x12.
