Mono to stereo

Just found out the Maxe unit i bouth is mono and my poweramp needs 2 inputs (peavey classic 60/60). So the question here is, Can i just use a splitter to feed the peavey 2 mono inputs or is this a bad idea?

with splitter i mean something like this:

I'm pretty spooked about messing with it and blowing something up since my funds are pretty low now i bought all my stuff.

That looks like a stereo adaptor. You should be able to find a mono Y-cable at a music store or something. Or, you can make one out of old cables.
Like this: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...ble?sku=336281
You should be fine doing something like that.

Btw... can't the Classic 60/60 bridge into mono @ 120 watts? My old Classic 50/50 could to 100.

Oh yeah, whats a Maxe unit?

Ah ty, will look for that asap

An maxe is this:

An old rocktron preamp, still has an amazing sound and extreme gain even by todays standards with little or no feedback at all, and the good part is they're about as expensive as a pedal, got mine for 100€ (bout 120$?).

lil annoying is that the input is located at the back :?

Your powre amp doesnt have a bridge mode? my power amp is stereo too. (so is my preamp, but my cab is mono, so i run it all mono). Generally, power amps dont NEED to run stereo. And if they do, you need a stereo cab to take advantage of it.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

I don't know anything about that bridge mode so ...

It's a bit modded when i bought it and it's got 2 volume knobs at the front (one for left and one for right), So i'm not sure if that bridge thing is still possible

Why don't use you just use one side and just keep the other side at 0 all the time. It should be fine.

first off, DO NOT RUN ONLY 1 SIDE OF THE POWERAMP.
i have 2 60/60s, they are not bridgable. if the maxes has only 1 output, run into the input of 1 side of the 60/60. turn the input on the other channel of the 60/60 to 0. run a cord from the line out of the channel that is plugged into the maxes to the input of the other channel of the 60/60. SLOWLY bring up the 2nd input on the 60/60 until they are matched. make sure you are running a cab from each output. the 60/60 needs to see a load for each channel or bad things can happen. or you could get a cheap effects unit like the intellifex and run maxes to the fx, stereo to the 60/60.

Okies, will try that tomorrow.

Haven't been running my peavey with only one side. Atm, there's a chameleon feeding it and i'm still using my Maxe on a head and it sounds great there.

Man, I've wanted one of those Maxes for a while now! I got outbid while I was at work on the last one I saw on ebay. They don't pop up very often. VERY brutal sounding preamps with built in Sonic Maximizer type thingy.
