Seems like I am seeing more and more threads about people's gear or guitars being stolen. Now its my turn...
The nights before I have band practice I load my head, cab, and all my pedals and wires and stuff into my car so that I don't have to do it early in the morning before school. Normally I never worry about theft in my town, its just one of those towns you never see crime in. I would lock my doors, but there is a problem with the locking mechanism in my car so my doors don't lock. I never made it a point to get it fixed because I just thought I would never get anything stolen. Me and both my parents even leave our keys in the ignition, also we never lock our doors to the house either, like this is how my town is. So walking out to my car this morning around 6 AM I notice that my head is missing, my pedals and cables are missing, also I had a TOM TOM GPS and an I-Home for my iPod but thats all gone too, it also looks like they tried to rip out the radio but couldn't. As for the pedals, I had a BOSS NS-2 and a Maxon OD9 which I loved dearly. I had 3 power supplys for the pedals, (one for each and then an extra just encase. I know, its time for a pedal-board.) those aren't cheap either, not to mention this 30 foot cable that you can only get from this local music shop. Anyways, I bought the head used, I just got off the phone with the guy I bought it from, and hes looking for the serial #. If I find the serial #, ill post it on here. I'm going to call local music stores all around my area and even further telling people to look out for it. This really sucks because I'm only 17 so I pretty much blew my entire savings on my rig so I cannot afford to replace all this stuff. My band hasn't been gigging on a regular basis like we used to but, I hope I can work out something. Sorry this is so long, thanks for reading if you did, also mods, I'm not sure where to post this so I put it in here since its related to the forum title. Maybe its time to post a "stolen stuff" forum. EDIT: here are some pictures of my rig that set it apart form all the rest, on the left side of the head and cab, "K.W.B.K" is painted in white, im sure the asshole will try to spray over it, but you should be able to tell if somebody sprayed it. ![]()

That sucks majorly!
I will say though, while I really do hope that you get all of your gear back: Come on man. Leaving all that in an unlocked car? Even if you do live in a nice neighborhood, you have to know that that's a chance, regardless of what neighborhood you live in. Like I said, it sucks 100000% that this happened, but you (read: everyone) have got to be careful. I've thought about putting all my stuff in the car before band practice the night before but it's better to err on the side of caution (is it worth not having to lug all this crap out here in morning, but risk having all of it stolen and never seeing it again?). Best of luck getting everything back! Hopefully you can find the serial# and the monster douche who took it will just unload it off at the closest pawn shop so you can get it back asap. |

That sucks man, really bad.
I have been in your place where my car's doors did not lock and had to leave my 4x12 inside, it made me really uneasy and never want to do that again at all. Did you have them covered with a sheet or just in plain view? Check your local CL and pawn shops non-stop and file a police report (if you haven't already) The serial number will be helpful but atleast let them know what has been stolen. |

everything was unlocked?!?! wtf?
This may come as a surprise, but burglars patrol NICE neighborhoods! Nicer things to steal, obviously. Sorry to hear about your loss, but come on! |

Sucks to hear it dude. I appreciate your car doors don't lock, but then why would you leave it there!
I'm thousands of miles from you, so can't help but I scope out ebay USA pretty often. It might be worth posting this to Jemsite and Music Radar forums too. Seriously sorry to hear it man, it must really suck. Being robbed makes you feel really uneasy. Formerly known as Fun111, don't be thrown off by the avatar!!!!!! Anyone catch last week's South Park? It's about a super hero named Captain Hindsight; he arrives at the scene of a disaster telling victims what they could have done to avoid the disaster in the first place. He's kind of annoying and useless.
I'll be keeping an eye out on the 'bay

Sorry to hear about your gear getting stolen. I live next door to a cop and then there's another cop 2 or 3 houses down who actually parks his cop car in front of his house every day after work. I live in a nice area, a lot of woods, and a lot of old people. With all of that, you wouldn't think robbery would be an issue... until it happens.
My mom parks her car in the drive way right up against the house. A few months back she bought a new GPS that she would leave in her car every day. After running out to pick up some groceries one night, she forgot to lock her doors. I remember waking up to a missed text by her saying someone stole her GPS and some other stuff out of her car overnight. That's not comparable to half a rig, but it's crazy to think that someone literally had to walk all the way up the driveway, was right up at the front of the house, and took shit out of her car. You can clearly see the cop car that sits in front of a neighbors house a couple houses over. Given the area and surroundings you'd never think something like that would happen until it does. Best of luck getting your gear back! |
