Orange heads
I've heard whisperings about the new orange amps actually being really good high gain amplifiers, and am intrigued. I think it's the rock o verb ones. A friend of mine who dioes endorsements was raving about them, but i know they aren't the most apparent and obvious amp. Anyone tried one?

I used to play through one in 1980, and it really rawked! It was louder n' hell. It sounded very Hi Watt like. (I had one of those, too!) I can't tell you much about the modern ones.

yeah, that's the thing, when he told me i was a bit dubious, as, well, all the indie bands love em as the have that old vintage sound, so when the dude goes it'll kick the shit out ofa lot of high gain amps i was a bit like? eh?

I've heard it too but I have a hard time believing it as I've NEVER seen one on stage with a metal band. I've never tried an Orange myself but I have some kind of prejudice against them because everytime somebody asks the usual " what amp/cab 4 teh br00tal \MeTaL/?" some corksniffer dork kicks in with "teh Orange is teh pwn0Rz!!!"

That said, I'd like to try one to see what the hype is about

The one I played had no writing on the front, except for the word "Orange". Just little pictograms for it's 5 (?) knobs. I don't think that they are ugly, but you have to like the color orange!
