Well, his rack was only filled with gear for effects anyway. A g-force, fireworx and an eventide I believe, so I don't really see what the big deal is. He is still using his stomp boxes, so it isn't like he's going from Guitar->g system->amp.

Erm...it says on his site that he cuts his hair after every major tour then grows it back out.

yeah being the showperson vai is onstage he likes everrything to make for an awesome show right down to the asthetic features like having long hair blown back by a fan

If you think about it makes sense. As technology changes things get smaller and simpler. Boxes like the G-System and even the GT-8 and Pod XT Live are making super big racks unnecessary.

I wouldn't mind having Vai's rig at all.

My dream rig is a G-System into a Mesa Roadster. I think that's all i'd ever need.

And i think Vai (like Petrucci) looks better with short hair.

Damn....it kinda makes sense, that he would want to do that and simplify his rig....I agree with 777...it must be the best multieffect. for 1400, it better be.
