![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Fender Metalhead... 550 watts? I am in NO way considering buying this amp, as at seems like a piece of crap just looking at the specs, but I am however interested in hearing if any of you guys have tried it out, and how bad it sucks. Just for laughs :p So how is it? Do the 550 ( ) watts of pure transistor power make up for the fact that it's well... 550 watts of pure non-tubiness I have to talk a poor kid out of even considering this amp, so help me out dudes! Help me save this kid's tone ![]() |

It had for of the higher gain rock tone. Then again, I'm not into the uber high gain/death metally tone that most people here seem to be into. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() | If you're into the Mortician kind of ridiculous amounts of gain and low end, its actually not that bad. If you're looking for any kind of definition though, I would steer clear. On the upside, the cabinet is amazing for metal. More low end and definition (when you don't use the accompanying head) than you could ever possibly put to use. You can put just about any amp with some gain into it and it sounds the part. Plus it looks muy metal. |

It sounded pretty good, handled the low A well and was pretty freaking awesome but I'm not sure if I'd buy one, they're pretty expensive imo and I'd rather get a Randall. Two RH300s > Metalhead |
