New amp today

So guys just wanted to show you my new 6505. as far as the settings go i have the lead pre gain on 5.2 ish low at 5.8 mids at 8 and highs at 4-5 the post gain at 2 was to loud for my room so i have a feeling its time to get some sound proofing.

If you want cheap, get a TS-7. AFAIK there's no audible difference between a regular TS-9 and the TS-7, but the TS-7 has those handy recessed knobs. It's also ~$100 cheaper.

You should def try a boost! I got an mxr gt od and it sounds great. I run pre gain on 3.5 bass 6 mids 6 treble on 5.5. My resonance is at 8 and presence at 4. The boos adds a little distortion to the signal so I can run the pre gain much lower. Great amp! Congrats!

If you want to mess around with boosting for cheap, pick up a used digitech bad monkey. You can usually find them for around 30 bucks, and if you set the level at max, low at 4, highs at 6 or 7, and gain at 0-2, it'll be just like a tube screamer.

bad monkey is a great recommendation, and you picked up a great head.

The 6/6/6 EQ works fairly well - adjust the resonance and presence knobs for your cab.

I had a go on one this weekend, twas nice. Preferred the 6505+ though.

Sell the B-52 and the LINE 6 cab to fund a MESA 412.

Grats on the amp mang. If you want a great boost a recommend the MXR GT-OD too.

so im thinking of trying out the digitech bad monkey and i just posted my b52 and line 6 cab on craigslist. i also was digging under my bead for a guitar stand and found a digitech rp 50 guitar processor. might mess around with the effect loop with that to get some delay and reverb going.

If you want less fizz, you need to turn up the post past "this amp is louder then my speaking voice" volume, and maybe lower your pre.

Do you have a band/practice space? Tube amps generally don't any better than a good practice amp at house volumes.
