![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Guitar processor advice needed for a non-gear-whore ;) (Disclaimer: I am not an up-to-date-gear-head. Other than my guitar, most of my stuff is damn near 20 yrs old and I have very little knowledge of what's really out there nowadays. Some of the following info may sound silly or ignorant, so feel free to have a good laugh, but just try to go easy on an older fucker, ok? )Despite money being tight, I'm wanting to get a new guitar processor, primarily for the need of using simultaneous effects. I'm actually quite content with my overall tone (coming from an old Scholtz Rockman Sustainor unit for gain, combined with a matching Scholtz equalizer), but I am really in need of the ability to have two additional effects at the same time (like chorus & flange together, etc). For the past, oh let's say 20 years, I've been running the aforementioned distortion unit & eq into an old Digitech RPS 1900 for chorus, delay, etc ('Tis not my auction, but mine looks just like http://cgi.ebay.com/Digitech-RTS-190...QQcmdZViewItem ). And while I like how it sounds for the most part, I can't do simultaneous effects within the Digitech unit. I typically have it set with just a bit of delay for a doubling effect, which I then run separate outputs to two small practice amps for a fairly decent sounding stereo effect. But what I really lack is the ability to hit my footswitch and kick in a badass flanger (ala "Number of the Beast" intro) at the same time. Never bothered me too much in the past, but here lately, I find that it's driving me nuts. Another little thing I'd love to have is the ability to set a delay to a specific digital number. One of my favorite things to play is "Dave's Party Piece", which Dave Weiner himself says "...use a delay set to 320 BPM". I can simulate it with my old Digitech's knobs, but it's damn hard to be accurate and who knows what the hell my actual BPM is. Takes a lot of frustrating trial & error to dial it in by ear. Plus I'd like to add in a little separate chorus at the same time as the delay, but as previously mentioned, not gonna happen with my current unit... ![]() If money was not an issue, I guess I could just scoop up a Boss GT-8, or a Line 6 PODxt and be in heaven. But unfortunately, money is a huge obstacle at the moment, thus I find myself looking at things that others are likely not looking at.... Saw this http://www.americanmusical.com/item-...2_51_288.html# and liked the price, but I don't know much about such things, and I'm not sure it'd do what I'd like. All tips & suggestions are welcome. If I can find something for less than $100 (maybe $150), then I'd like to get it. If it's more than that, it's really gonna have to wait. (Thanks for reading this far. Sorry about the ) |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Wow, a Rockman..... That was the first "effects" device i ever owned, nice to see someone else here who digs it. To answer question, I find this floorboard quite underrated: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1 This falls somewhere between a Pod 2.0 and an XT, it runs stereo, and the effects are GORGEOUS. It's more recent incaranation is the AX1500G, but the differences seem mostly cosmetic, and it pushes you over the 100$ price tag. |

The beauty of them is everything is switchable from the face of the unit, so there's no menu scrolling to switch off a cabinet model for instance, just hit a button on the front. The effects are useable, not top quality but certainly very good for the price, and you can get some nice tones from it should you wish to use it as your preamp too. |

That Behringer V-Amp 2 looks like it might do nicely, but I'd just like to confirm it'll do what I'm lookin' for. | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | my ART Xtreme Plus sorta did that. it had preset affects patches that you could assign to banks that you'd access with an UP and DOWN buttons. reverb, delay, chorus, flange, etc. though, it's all preset. you can change the level, drive, wet/dry, and EQ stuff, but that's it. not bad for $100, with three amp models. i used mine for several years before i got my G-Major. it's a bit noisy, but you can't notice too much on a not-so-high gain amp ![]() I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways, we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You can download manuals directly from the Behringer site, seems the best way to get accurate specs. I'm not too sure if it would do what you want |
