It cuts noise before AND after the preamp, making it effectively silent like the clean channel would be when I'm not playing. I love it.

The only other pedal I run is a tuner
Damn that is awesome, I am gonna try an NS-2 like that and see if the hiss drops so I can hear more of the crunch.

I stopped using a noise suppressor recently (don't need it anymore), but when I was using it, the chain looked like this:

Guitar->Wah->NS2->Amp

my TS9 was in the NS2's loop. If you read the manual I believe it tells you to put "distortion effects" in its loop.

Worked best that way for me.

wow some of u ppl have strange setups... if u have the supressor at the beginning, it will kill your sustain, if you put it at the end, it will cut off your delay repeats and reverb... if you have an amp with 2 loops, one serial, and one paralell, like my carvin v3... i put the supressor in the serial loop by itself, and just assign the loop to the distortion channels. nobody wants the noise killer on a clean channel... if u have a clean boost or a compressor put it b4 the supressor, or clean boost>ts9>supressor> modulation>time based effx... tell me exactly what u have and i can help... teehee

NS-2 is in the loop too, using the 4 cable 'X' design. This works incredibly well. It's like having 2 suppressors in one box.

For the uninitiated:

No noise gate/suppressor for me.
Does the ENGL savage have one of those built in noise gates with the knob on the back of the amp?

No, it doesn't, and it's horrifically noisy.

I just sold my ISP Pro Rack G and went back to using just the single stage pedal version. Reasons being, the second channel on the Pro Rack didn't help enough to justify it's existence, and the main reason is so I can shut it off while I play. I got tired of the additional compression that it adds to my tone, espicially on the clean channel, so now I just turn it on for stops and between songs. If only it were midi programmable though.

I don't use it at the end because it cuts some feedback of the delay, but it doesn't suck tone as the NS-2 (i haven't tried the decimator yet) and it's very transparent and it can be very accurate with the frequency of noise to cut.

i really like it.

For real though, I use the gate in my Axe-Fx. Works wonders.

I run two noise gates now.
Signal chain is. Guitar>Boss NS-2>Ibanez TS9>Diezel Herbert>(switchable loop)Pod X3 Pro>(Tuner out)Korg DTR2000>(Serial loop)ISP Decimator>(parallel out)BBE Sonic Maximiser 428i>THD Hotplate 8Ohm>Diezel FR4x12.

I run the boss afte the guitar to kill the initial source into the mix. It makes the amp so punchy. I keep the threshold really high and the decay really fast.

The pod has it's own noise gate, but I run it in the switchable loop so most of the time it's bypassed.

I run the decimator in the serial so it cleans out anything after the power section.

If you know anything about Diezel, when running at gig volume they hummmmmmmmmmmmm. This is the only way I can nullify it.

I'm all about Rohypnol, Diezel's, 8 String RG's, Gibson's, PRS's, and Hardcore Team Deathmatches.

Guitar < NS2 < MT2 < Delay < Stereo chorus < Line to each amp. I have found that the noise gate first works best for me. At the end of the chain it would cut off the delay effect.
