Rate my tone please ( Pod Xt content )
Hey, I haven't done a clip for quite a while, but was urged to do one as a friend of mine wants to start off a project called " The Legendary Master Chief ". Im not gonna say what it is referencing purely because its very sad.

But anyway, I was just recording a few riffs with my RG 7321 ( yes another nailbomb Ibanez clip Smile ).

Recording consisted of an MBox, my new MacBook Pro ( Pro Tools was released 3 days ago for it ) and a POD XT Pro.

No drums on this clip and its just ideas for now.

The click is interesting...

Distorted tone wise I think it's a bit thick on the distortion and loses some of the definition on the faster passages, so possibly reducing the gain a bit may be an idea. Sounds cool otherwise, also the clean sound is nice

Cheers dude. I thought that as well, about the thickness. This isnt the usual style of tone i would go with. I suppose this is sort of my attempt at a sevenstring version of Mastodon's tone.

Oh yeah, sorry about the click...its for the drummer and i left it on to help him out...then didnt get a chance to take it off.

I love the tone. Sounds sorta like Meshuggah meets Nevermore. Very thick and heavy.

I hate the click, though. Sounds like some old Atari sound effect gone bad!

Bah. I hate Pro Tools click. I always either copy and paste samples in, or record a click from a MIDI-controlled sampler/synth of some kind.
