Congrats mate!

6505's (the "normal" versions and the + ones) are killer amps. Real workhorses and they are so damn easy to get a awesome tone from.

so, do i hate you now or later?

it was a 5150/6505 night tonight, good times. les paul studiods, boosted 5150's and decent cabs makes for some good tunes

3 cheers for free gear!

Trust your ears.

In life and music, what is is but that doesn't always mean it's what it should. Change, is in our hands.

thanks guys!
Kyle I ran them together today and they play nice!
The Mark III is carrying the lower mid range and the 6505+ is carry the
upper mids but not Honkish marshally upper mids.
It's like a nice think but still sharp wall of sound. No mud, pretty cool
actually, you guys may like them together as they are both pretty thick
sounding yet still articulate amps. I'm liking this one more than my old
5150 combo, it's a bit smoother and tighter, and where I used to run the
gain on my combo at 4-5 I am runnning it on this amp at 5-6, so I guess
they did lower than gain on the +'s a bit.
Overall for the price I scored this for I'm very happy with it.
Anyone thinking about one of these for metal or hard rock should be
pretty happy with it. I threw an MXR 10 band EQ into the loop and I ended
up pulling it out as there really wasn't anything I needed to change with
the tone I'm getting. It's cool just the way it is.
And I do find the clean on the much better than the clean on my old 5150
combo, but still no where as good as the clean on the JSX.

the crunch channel on this version is actually really good as a blues
channel. It's got a nice marshally vibe to it with just enough break up to it.

Can I be the devil on your shoulder?

nah, I actually turned the gain down to 4 today and used my "7" clean boost and it sounded kller. This amp definitely has less gain to it than my old combo.
I've been trying to use as little gain as possible lately, just enough to give me singing sustain. don't like the fizz/fuzz etc.
