Crackling noises from the JSX

ok so here's the deal: i swapped out the JJ's in the pre for the stock tubes to see which i like more. when i put the stock ones back in, i fired up the amp and there was a weird crackling whenever i wasnt playing. this continued when i turned it off and turned it on again, as well as when the guitar was unplugged. i have no pedals (yet) so that's also ruled out.

i adjusted the bias, and i think it might be that? I put the JJ's back in, and the problem persisted. its not loud, its just very annoying as the amp worked perfectly before. it still plays fine.

any help would be appreciated! i'd rather not take it in, but if i have to i will.

Bias doesnt affect the preamp tubes?

Did you try putting the JJ's back in?

the jsx i tried at guitar center made a pop every once in a while, and when this girl who worked there came over and started talking to me about it, she slapped her hand on the top of the amp and it made a loud pop, she seemed very surprised.

anyway, i dont think i can help, i just thought i'd share that. sounds like something is definitely wrong, are the tubes pushed in there all the way?
