Tech21 SansAmp GT2
![]() Years and years ago, I wanted one of these pretty badly. I never actually got to use one, but I started wondering about them again; are they any good? I use a PodXT Live for recording, but for practice with the band I have a shitty crate 2x12; I'm tired of lugging my XT Live to practice every time. Anyone have any experience with this pedal? I'm not looking for AAA-sounds, but passable enough to use. Any thoughts? |

Owned, returned
I owned this pedal for a while. It was great for computer recording, but was horrible with my amp (Fender Hot Rod Deville at the time). The sounds had no sustain, or warmth. I think I was using a Gibson Explorer at the time. This pedal was designed as a recording preamp, and not so much as a stand alone distortion pedal.
Of course this could have been my amp and guitar not mixing well with the pedal. So I would definitely try the pedal out beforee buying, it might sound great to you. Do you like the tone from your POD XT? If so, maybe get a cheaper Line 6 product to haul around, such as a Floor POD. Good Luck
