New Laney... low wattage... melt em!!!!
Laney L20H Lionheart Series Boutique Head Amp
I've been trying to hunt down a TT20 h lately just to see if I can melt tubes, or at least turn them white, or at least not piss off my neigbors with my stack... Those little guys have some of the best lead tone too, I can only imagine it's very similar to it's little cousin. If anyone can play one of these ( as there are no Laney dealers near me) I want to know what you think. |

The Lionhearts are fucking expensive, IMO. Hope you don't want the matching cab, because it costs as much as the head.
Musician's Friend - Search Results $900 for a 2-12 cab? $1k+ for a 5watt 1-12 combo? I wish this company would make a "modern" amp line. They're got the vintage era covered, they're got the hot-rodded JCM800 thing covered, what they need as a 5150/Engl equivalent. Maybe use the Nexus bass amp head shell for it. |

Yeah, the exchange rate makes Laney's super expensive for you guys. The Nexus looks awesome, it'd make a great basis for a modern metal guitar head. Looks like it's rack mountable too.

Since no one has asked the obvious...
Why the hell do you want to try and melt tubes?

1. Yes, Laney definately needs to make something a bit more modern. Though the VH100r makes me pop a huge wood everytime I hear it. What they need to do is make an amp that sounds like the VH on crack.
2. Yes, they are wicked expensive. You can, however, find 'em cheaper once they go through circulation. 3. and yes, it is just a figure of speech. I've never even gotten to open up my 60w yet, which is depressing as it sounds killer... Maybe if I get a 20 I'd be able to rip it open....

Nah. It'd be, like, 10% quieter. Maybe.
