That looks to be a Z-5 footswitch(Engls standard for a lot of their amps), which is a 6 button switch which is machine turned aluminum on the outside(i love engl footswitches, i have two a Z-5 and a Z-10)

Yeah, ok. I never turn mine up past 9, because I find it becomes far too harsh and scratchy sounding. People say ENGL have more gain than you'd ever need, but it's really the prescence they go overboard on.

Well, just try it out and see what works best for you. Try starting off with 0 prescence, and then keep dialing in a bit more untill it sounds good.

Throw a Tung Sol 12AX7 in V1. Matt Crooks has that same amp, and that simple tube swap completely transformed it.

Yeah definitely keep it around 9'clock. I've also found the amp will sound bland if the mids aren't up around 12 o'clock but that'll depend on the speakers of course.

hmm, mids up around 12 o clock..... I actually have them on max in focused mode

Those were the settings when I got the amp home. I turned it on standby and took pics while I was waiting for it to warm up. I have the gain below 9:00 now actually but with a tubescreamer in front. My mids are almost all the way up now too. I have still had literally like 10 minutes to tinker with it
