10 string classical guitar

anyone ever ventured into this? I'd get one, and lose all my metalness and play muchos classical all the time, cept they're $2,000+. Someday though... someday...

There was one guy that posted on these forums a while back that lives in Texas that could build you one for a little less than $2000 from what I Remember.

10 is a bit too much for me, but 8 would be awesome.

oh, just listening to classical music. I was actually introduced by a teacher at the university of washington here in seattle, and when I picked up the guitar... I went, huh? It was quite cool. A lot of classical schools have 10 string guitar orchestra's. If you google "10 string guitar" it will pop up with these.


shit man, $2,000 is too much for me, lol. I'd have to get it for around $1000, or else I'd just build my own.

For mine I'm planning on a modified Marlow tuning:
high to low: E-B-G-D-A-E-B-F#-C#-G# with the lowest 3 (the #s) tuned an octave higher than expected. I will probably order mine in the 30.325" scale so I'd tune it 1.5 steps down from that or lower since I always tune 1-4 steps down.
