Dragonforce with..?

so i seen a dragonforce interveiw the other day and herman li pulled out the rg2228!....i dont mean to bash anyone cause dragonforce isnt my thing but every thing ive herd from them sounds like a sped up high pitched vid. game sound track....why do they need to extra lower strings(adn once agin on the bashing thing...they're awsome musicians.way way way better than i can ever hope to be...but i just can get into their music)

More than likely it's just because they get preferential treatment as Ibanez endorsees, and because they're in a "metal band" it's good for them both to be seen with the "newest metal instrument".

My bet is he would use a high a and a low B string, because so far no strings have allowed for a high d before snapping I believe.

Well basically if you play all your riffs on a low F#, by the time you speed it up as much as they do it sounds like it's believably in E or D. That's my guess.
