Baritone djent?

So I'm not really all too familiar with baritone guitars and how they work, I'm mostly a bassist who recently got into guitars, really.

But anyways, if I wanted to get a really bright, high-gain distortion sound ala Tesseract/Bulb/Meshuggah etc... The best way to go about that would be to get some kind of baritone guitar, since the longer scale means I can use lighter strings to retain the same level of tension, and lighter gauge strings = brighter tone, which = more djent? Would I be right in saying this?

Obviously I'm aware other factors come into play when trying to get any kind of specific tone, like my playing style, pickups, amp etc...

Basically, I'm looking at getting something like this:
First Guitar Shop - OLP MM5 Model Baritone Guitar

Just to experiment with, nothing too serious, really. Maybe switching the pups if I can find someone to do it, figure out how to do it myself. Just to fiddle around with and try and get some cool (or what I consider cool) guitar tones for kicks, hence the cheap price of it.

I suppose my main question would be, would getting that guitar be a good step in trying to achieve some djenty tones for cheap?

Thanks ya'll.

I say what most will say - djent is a technique. You can djent on a Les Paul or a 28" 8 string guitar. Its all about how you mute and release etc the strings. So I mean a baritone would help with the lighter string situation.

Ah, I see.
I was led to believe it was a combination of the two. Or rather that it becomes alot easier to do with a baritone guitar/very high-gain amp etc...

I can djent on 10-68 gauge strings in B VERY easily. Thinner strings make it easier, but it is by no means impossible, not by a long shot.

a .68 for B tuning?!!!! WOW that's thick. i personally think that thinner strings is the way to djent. just ask meshuggah. they used a .9-.54 in Bb till they got their 8 strings and then switched to a .9 - .52 for Bb, and a .70 in low F

Uhm...djent isnt a technique as much as it is a combination of gear choices and settings. Sure, you do a palm mute kinda away from the bridge...but that said...gear/settings is more the real deciding factor.
So yeah....that said...my baritones djent with crystal clear note definition.
