lol dont you ever read kevins posts?
he totally totes you around. Im not saying its not for a damn good reason, from what everyone has to say around here, youre work is top notch. I intend to get something myself at some point
but its not like youre name just gets promoted without any word at all. like people know you do good work, magically. people spread the word

im not trying to say that your work only happens cause people mention you, sorry if it came out that way. if you'd rather, you can replace "tote" with promote, that really i think is more what i mean. But that doesnt mean people dont mention you. Trust me, around here, people definitely mention you

While I am pleased that people support my work, I still have a certain level of discression on how I want to be promoted.
I think it`s great that you guys support Sebastian, but the way Desecrated goes about it is probably more detrimental than it is helping him.

Obviously, kevin is one of my customers. He never asked where he could get pickup rings, but Desecrated took the opertunity to post a (shameless I might add) plug for Roter like he does in other threads.
If someone is promoting MY guitars in a class-less method as that, I want to know about it, as that is not how I wish to be represented.

While we are on the subject.
I hang on this site because I like the people that run it, and it`s members.

Yes, my name seems to be thrown around alot here, but it`s more due to members have guitars on order, and have threads about it.
I only post pictures of the guitars that are for members here in their threads. There are alot of guitars being made for people outside SS. that I purposely don`t post here.

I am not on this site trolling for buisiness like some other Luthiers I have seen in the past.
Most websites don`t allow that sort of thing, even with a Vendor membership subscription.
If you are going use this site for buisiness, you should at least have the decency to contact the Owner of the site and ask for permission to do so, and make a contribution to the man. Afterall, it is his site

A bit of the reason I ordered from Mike is because of this business ethic actually.

Other than being wildly off-topic, it's not fair to be arguing "ethics" among the builders on here, if it wasn't the builders who made the initial comments. I can't speak for them, but I doubt Mike tells people to rep. his products on every thread, and I doubt Apophis (Rotor) is doing it either.

Either way, people are enthusiastic about the their instruments, and they want to tell everybody their builders the best, etc. That's just what happens. I take it with a grain of salt. If you can tell somebody's partial, or bias in their recommendations, then don't pay attention. Let the work, your own experience, opinions and the builders speak for themselves.

I get what youre saying man. Again, no offense intended, sorry if i came off the wrong way
Back on topic.
Are you able to make wood or plastic covers that would fit in an EMG route to house passives?
I think we really gotta find a way to produce a bulk of these things and sell em out, it seems like a huge cureall to the being stuck with emg's thing.

Had to chime in.. I was introduced to this website by my first ERG customer, a man who avidly posts and is adored and even interviewed by the members and staff at this website. Do I even have to mention his name? If I didn't build his guitar and make him happy with it, I wouldn't have had the last 4 customers know who I am. THANK YOU SS.ORG!!!!

I, as a builder, get emails and PM's daily on people asking me to post pictures, asking me for quotes, questions on how-to's, ect. I am happy to respond and to post for everyone to see, I have nothing to hide and I'm more than confident in my capabilities as a designer and builder. I think it's a great forum for everything guitar related, and I'm happy to contribute to the wealth of information by posting my guitars and methods on here.. consequently, I've never had someone say "why are you wasting my time with this?"

I agree with Mike Sherman on his stance of ethics, and I think one such argument that should be made on the topic of ethics is making people aware of how luthiers and businesses work, and keeping people informed about every builder and every guitar out there. Talk about each others' work, introduce the members to new builders, don't be afraid of competing against other luthiers. If you believe in your work then let the people talk and let them come to you. If anyone feels like I am whoring my guitars around and posting unnecessary posts, then let me know, directly. I want to contribute (and yes, I'm even making a banner to promote my business properly via a donation to the staff) and I want people to talk about me, Mike, Rondo, and every other luthier because we should all be friends.

And to not keep it too off topic, a Lundgren in your Ibanez will sound fantastic, I'm sure anyone here will be happy to make adapter covers or pickup rings.

I don't get what's the big deal, people ask question like, "where can I find a baritone 7 string?" And I answer at roter custom shop, why?, because he is cheaper then most production guitars and he can do what ever you want, if you want 27" he can do that, if you want 29.346464 he can do that, It's a custom shop. Now I've mention, sherman, kxk, ran, and pas several time, not only roter. I've never seen you complain when I've suggested your shop to people looking for custom guitars.

I didn't know you had a monopoly on customers but okay. And I didn't even post it at kevin, I posted it to the guy who started the thread.

There is nothing shameless in my post, He was worried that getting a lundgren in his guitar would create a gap between the pickup and the guitar, And I happen to know that roter does pickup covers in wood, because he has posted about it before. Sorry for trying to help members with problems, I'll try to avoid it in the future.

I Have no intention of doing promotion for roter or any other company, I just recommend the things that I personally use.

Productive Desecration Since 2004

Jonathan, where in my posts did I insinuate that I had a monopoly on this board?
As I mentioned earlier, I don`t troll this board for work. My time is very limited, and I don`t have the luxury of reading every thread that you post in.
Again, I`m happy to see you promote Roter, or whoever you support, just do it in a tasteful way to respect the integrity of the person you are supporting.

My name got dragged into this conversation, and I wasn`t pleased in the way it was, thats all.
Just the other day, a Mod dropped you a very tasteful hint about a very similar post as the one I referred to as, "shameless".
Sorry you failed to pick up on it.

I am certainly NOT trying "Monopolize" this board. FYI: Several other Luthiers on this board have come to me for advise on certain proceedures, and I have always been forthcoming with helping them. I have also trained alot of Luthiers who went on to be successful.

My comments regarding Trolling for work are pretty self expanatory.
I have no problems with Luthiers trying to find work, and spreading the word.
All I was trying to say was, if you are making money from this site, remember it`s owner, thats all.

Ok, back on topic
