okay, let´s all just be nice, ok? this is getting out of hand. it doesen´t matter whether or not Jonathan has been flaunting the Roter name around. if he has been, then it´s obvious that he didn´t mean to flaunt it as such, he´s just probably really happy with his own experience, and so is naturally extatic to be spreading the word.

it happens. i don´t know whether he´s been "toting" it or not, because i haven´t seen the threads people are on about, i just know he had a neck made... but no matter what the situation is, the intent is probably something completely different, and i´m sure everyone has learned the lesson now, me included.

i´m not trying to protect or back anyone up, i just think this whole "no, it´s you that is wrong in this discussion of very non-specific opinions!" thing is pointless.

so let´s get over this, shall we? i already gave a conclusion to the question posed by the original poster, and let´s leave it at that. all luthiers, and indeed other members, will agree:

seeing as we have a very wide variety of luthiers on this site, all very skilled and capable, with their own style and methods, can make you what you want. they are all very nice people, and will answer your questions and give you a quote.

that should be all the info necessary. if you´re curious as to how you should have them designed, as in how they should look, ask the nice people of this forum, they all have good ideas

let´s all kiss and make up, and remember the lessons learned!

If you were looking for something of a more drop fit replacement, Nordstrand pickups (while obviously not Lundgren, just an suggestion) could custom build a passive replacement that wouldn't leave any space whatsoever. Good pricing as well.

you can get pickup covers from anywhere really, but you're going to have to drill into the body wood to mount them as far as i know. I opted to not put covers on mine so i can put the emgs back in when i want to sell it and keep it stock, ya know?

well im actually thinking more of a cover like an EMG housing. see have something that fits into the emg'd spot, and mounts using the emg mounting holes. mount the pickup into that, and pot it with wax or something. like literally a replacement emg casing that you mount the passives in

and there are swineshead pickups too, never heard anything by them, but people seem to like them, and they look pretty killer too :P
thanks for the advice but im pretty sure about the lundgrens. i know a guy who's got a 7 with lundgrens and it sounds fucking gnarly.

cool

and for the pickup covers, you could just have some nice ones made of wood, and then finished however you want... you could make some awesome colour combos like that

just have EMG-size housings made out of maple or something, and then have them finished in either black or something really tasty :P
