That sounds exactly like, "kevin can only buy from me"

As I mentioned earlier, I don`t troll this board for work. My time is very limited, and I don`t have the luxury of reading every thread that you post in.
Again, I`m happy to see you promote Roter, or whoever you support, just do it in a tasteful way to respect the integrity of the person you are supporting.

My name got dragged into this conversation, and I wasn`t pleased in the way it was, thats all.
Just the other day, a Mod dropped you a very tasteful hint about a very similar post as the one I referred to as, "shameless".
Sorry you failed to pick up on it.
No he mention that I should post more then just the company's name, like I did in this thread, I mention the company's name, and the product that was relevant to the thread.

I agree with chris, that just posting the name of the company is a bit thin and can easily become annoying for others, I myself has been somewhat bugged from others on the forum that's doing the same. That's why I wrote a little longer this time.

I am certainly NOT trying "Monopolize" this board. FYI: Several other Luthiers on this board have come to me for advise on certain proceedures, and I have always been forthcoming with helping them. I have also trained alot of Luthiers who went on to be successful.

My comments regarding Trolling for work are pretty self expanatory.
I have no problems with Luthiers trying to find work, and spreading the word.
All I was trying to say was, if you are making money from this site, remember it`s owner, thats all.
I have no idea what that has to do with me posting suggestion on what people should buy, I posted tons of stuff about behringer, does that mean that behringer should pay chris because I'm saying that I like their products ???

Productive Desecration Since 2004

Funny, I also recall you pimping Roter in the "What's the best Strat for $1000-1200" thread, as well...

I fuckin' love my Sherman bass, it's way better than I deserve, hack bassist that I am. I've also seen enough of Mike's work to know that the man is a seriously talented human being. But, I don't say "Talk to Mike Sherman" every time someone wants a new tone knob, you know? The man has a point.

That's splitting hairs to such an absurd extent it's not even funny. "I didn't just post the company name, I posted the company name and then referenced the question I posted the company name in reference to!"

Yeah that's because I think that roter can build a custom for that price, but the guy in the thread had a grandfather or something who built custom guitars so he was fine
I honestly think if your going to spend more then 1000 us dollars on a guitar going custom is the best choice. I think I remember seeing rondomusic doing custom guitars for 999 dollars or so.
But isen't that also the thread where I got the first warning and then explained all this already ?

I'm sorry, I disagree, let me demonstrate a little, which of these examples do you think look better;

"I want to buy a new sevenstring guitar, but which one?

a. ibanez
b ibanez rg 1527 "

To me, I think it looks better to post both the product name and the product, and not just the product name, that I have been posting before, which I already has admitted too, looks really bad.

When the product was "pickup rings" and the question was "where can I get pickup rings"? Come on, dude.

I finally called you out on that because you post "Roter" as the sole suggestion for every guitar related query you see. I mean, can you imagine any two guitars more different than a stratocaster and a baritone 7? All luthiers have their fortes. I storngly doubt one guy is the best bet for both, and frankly it gets kind of annoying to listen to.

I mean, is Roter widely acclaimed for his pickup rings, any more than, say, Fretsonthenet? If I was Apopsis, I'd probably be a little annoyed with you for your lack of discrimination by now.

let´s just stop all the piss and say that any luthier on this site could make you a pickup ring/pickup cover!

we´ve got loads of them in here :P

i´m too tired to list them all though, but if you frequent these boards you´ll know where to find them...

so basically, the answer is that the M8 will work fine in the ibby, and if you want it to still look pretty, any woodworkers on this forum can make you one, each with different styles and flavours, but they´ll all be able to make you the product you want in this case.

asking for trouble now! :P

but to be fair, don´t go for the m8 all blindly, unless you know that´s what you want. other brands are about as well, like BKP. i think they´ve started maing 8 string pups?

and there are swineshead pickups too, never heard anything by them, but people seem to like them, and they look pretty killer too :P

I posted roter because they are cheap and because I have experience from them, but as I said, I've posted suggestion about pretty much every luthier on this site and then some, It just happened to be a lot of roter lately, AND I'll already apologized for it twice.

And The subject wasn't pickup rings, it was wooden covers for pickups, And roter is the only company that has made a thread about offering wood covers, I know that others can do so to, for example sherman , who did a great job on the black korina guitar, but I can't recall him posting about offering small parts.

honestly drew, reading your post it seems like your just attacking me without really reading the first two pages of this thread.
