Question Just Got RG1077XLB, now need with new sound

I just got an Ibanez 1077XLB. I never thought I'd ever get a 7 string, but my friend let me borrow his as a challenge to myself for trying to get a grip on tone. So I did, did research, and went with the baritone w/ the Floyd.... Cost a pretty penny. I used to run my rig through 2 DigiTech 2101 artists. that I'm now selling for $200 each. I run through a POD X3, and soon to be a ENGL E530. I would have gottent the Savage 120 but budget is short after the guitar purchase. I'm planning on either throwing money into a Seymour Duncan JB 7, Ludgren M7, or a Warpig 7. I love the way the JB sounds, the Lundgren is tight but missing something, never heard the Warpig 7 but from what I hear they are very versitile. Also looking into cabinets. I am definatly getting an ISP Vector SL 15, and looking at Eminiance speakers such as the Swampthang, Wizard, and the new Lynch 12. Earcandy is making cabs with tonewoods so I might go that route. I plan on buying an Alesis 30 band eq with programable settings as well. Looking at overdrive pedals to boost in front of the ENGL because from what I hear a little overdrive will go a long way. People mention the Digitech monkey, maxon, and voodoo labs pedals, but I don't know.. The POD x3 sounds pretty good already, but never used the ENGL yet. So I'm looking for speaker combos, pickups, and overdive pedals...
Did I mention I also need a new neck humbucker and middle pickups.

Anyone?

Help is apprectiated.

wow. wait
ok
so youre looking at replacing all 3 pickups, a new amp, and all of your other gear?
ok, for pickups, if your willing to spend as much as a lundgren or warpig cost you, get some bkps (warpig or something else) and send in the middle coil to tim, for a rewind.

as far as the amp, what kind of music do you play?
for overdrive, i recommend either a bloody murder, or something else modded by joe bodenhammer (LordOvChaos). hiw work is incredible.
wed need what amp you want defined before choosing a cab as well

Every option you listed seems like it has a great set of possibilities.

As for a neck and middle...I haven't yet found a single coil seven string pickup that suited me. I've had good luck with Dimarzio Evolution 7 Bridge in the Neck position and Swineshead's CL7N.

If you are in Kansas, you might be able to save money by getting US pickups, like Dimarzio or SD, but I think you might be more satisfied with Bareknuckles, depending on how picky you are about your tastes. I've had great luck with both Dimarzios and Seymour Duncans, personally.

Of course, knowing what kind of tone you are going for would help us a lot.

Well, my tone is pretty much something I want to create, and not so much copy someone elses.

I think i speak for most people when I say metal is my main style.
But there are so many subgenres...

so.

Machine Head- Awesome sound in general and leads.
I know they use 5150II's

Mnemic- More of the Audio Injected Soul sound for rithym.

Deftones- Self titled album has great chord voicing, and they use ISP Vector SL's

Parkway Drive- what can I say, they have an amazing sound especaially on Killing with a smile.

For the Fallen dreams- Has great upper register harmonics voicing and lower riffs as well. They also use 5150's

I like Fear Factory, but refuse to buy blackouts, too dry from everyone who's used them, I'd like something rich and organic yet can handle the baritone 7.

Sevendust- All over has great guitar tone that matches the bass. I hear clint uses JB's, and he's band in the band so...

Sikth- pounding 7 string sound

Sybreed- tight and organic

Textures,Tesseract--- once again, tight and organic on the lower notes.

Darkest hour, As I lay dying, All that remains, unearth, August Burns Red,- Has great single note response.

Bullet for my valentine- ok band, but the new album has a great power chord definition, very thrash.. I like.

Caliban, Heaven SHall Burn....- I know they use ENGL Savage 120's, but I can't afford that so I bought the E530 which hasn't come in yet, but I have my JJ ECC83S' read to install when it does.

Gojira... ok i don't have to sound like the band that pretty much killed Morbid Angel... and Behemoth was bringin' it, but they got WAY TOO saturated, you can't even make out the guitars anymore... so pshaw!

In Flames... yea I pretty much loved these guys since day one and still do.
I have my POD so I can somewhat make it sound nice and thick if I need to without sounding too transparent.

It Dies Today- they have a great "song" sound... heavy and distinct.

Meshuggah- yea I know buy ludgrens right?...

The Ocean.... very loud and tight sounding guitar

As far as it goes for leads......

Soilwork, Scar Symmetry,Threat Signal,Machinemade God.

Ok, so I can't sound like all of them, dont need to, but you asked.

I NEED a tight lower note sound, a rich thrash sound, harmonic upper register, trills much like Heaven Shall burn, and a deep sense of drop-d openness.

Help at all?

creating your tone is the way to go.
it just helps to know what kinda tone you want, so we dont help you create an awesome country twang sound when you want to play reggae

what is your budget on everything?

Have you played with the Evolution 7 at all? It's not much like the Evo 6 and might save you a little cash if you're cionsidering BKP or Lundgrens.

Or if you do BKP, you could try a nailbomb7 and a cold sweat7?

You should be pretty happy with the Engl.

Well I have to sell an AMPEG SVT 4 PRO before I can buy anything else.
but I want to make this baby sing.

I've never heard any BKP's on a 7 string cause all the samples on their page won't work.

Whats the difference between the Warpig and the Nailbomb? and is the coldsweat a neck pickup?

as far as lundgrens go... how do they compare to a SD JB 7?

hypothetically there is no budget.
just tone

here is a sample of some stuff I just wrote on my Digi Jamman...

http://Mindstuk.fileave.com/MySong9.mp3

just a rough cut... but it's kinda a sample of all the different styles of techniques I play around with that I want to sound full...
like I said just a few...

I do sometimes pull some meshuggah out, but like I said I don't want to sound just like Freddie T.
