Pics of improved 7 & 8 string bolt on method

People have been asking me how my bolt on style works, as I've described it as extremely strong and easy to access all frets because of the lack of "heel". Well here's what I mean!

-guitar is red "natural satin" 8 string, fyi.

that looks on one hand, awesome, aesthetically, and for just extra access room, but on the other hand, looks like it could be uncomfortable holding at the highest frets. i wouldn't know without actually trying it though.

to me it's real comfy, my hand never comes in contact with the body... it comes about 1 1/2" from it.

This must mean that the neck pickup is farther into the body though. Does its tone suffer at all?

I asked this in the identical thread you made, but I'll ask again in case the other thread gets closed.

That looks amazing, but is there anyway of moving the neck pickup so its closer to the fingerboard with any loss in structual integrity?
Thanks

Such pain, I must help...deepen it

thx IBZ, bolt on isn't my number one method of neck joining, remember everything I do is per-request, so I try to make lemonade out of lemons...

if it was a set neck, I would have the same tongue extension but it would be flush with the neck pickup so.. it'd butt up against the fingerboard and the pickup would be routed/mounted on the tongue extension. Not very feasible to do this on bolt on method but, you know. I've done weirder things.
