Tubarão Guitars 8 string custom guitar

I remembered there is a guy under a nick of 'Tubarão Guitars' in jemsite forum, so I PM'd him if he could make a nice thread with pictures and everything in 'Other 7-string Guitars' section in there and I got a reply in few hours:

Quote:
Hey man, thanx for asking!
Yeah, the custom 8 string is totally custom made from scratch.
I'll gonna do a review with plenty of pictures soon!
C ya,
Willian Tubarão.

Scarpie is a jewel in the rough
see this is a perfect example of why i don't think 27" scale is enough for the low F#. at 1:14 he is riffing and you can't hear a damn thing as far as to what notes he is playing, all overtones and NO articulation whatsoever. sucks imo.

For a start, the video camera this was recorded with is obviously not the best piece of equipment for recording a distorted guitar to start with. Add to that a loss of quality due to youtube compression and the fact that ie sounds like he has a very bass-heavy EQ and its bound to get a bit mushy. That said, I can still hear the notes clearly, even if it isnt the prettiest sound coming out of my speakers.

I have an Ibanez Rg2228, and even with its 27" scale, myself and others listening to me don't seem to have a problem hearing which notes I'm playing.

its a matter of opinion dude. i too have played the rg 8 and simply was not pleased with the lack of articulation on the 8th string. not to my standards at least. now if we sit down and make you play an 8 string with a longer scale through your setup and settings, you'll be sure to see what i am talking about. it may work for you which is fine, but if you can get clearer sounds why not? know what i mean?
