same here... i didn´t know my schecter was 26.5" scale until i measured it after hearing some rumors :P

also, if you want to get used to huge scale lengths, start practisig guitar parts on a bass. nothing to crazy, but something that needs you to move your hands around, like lamb of god or something. when you´re used to the size of a bass, guitars will feel tiny in comparison :P

all it takes is time. Just like when you transitioned from 6 to 7 strings, playing on it takes time to get used to. i play a couple of 27' scales and when i go back to 25 or 24 i over reach sometimes.

I use a lot of ninth chords (i.e.: fundamental, fifth, ninth) and never had any problem doing those on the lowest fret on my 26.5" scale. I can't wait to try that on the "to be" Agile 8 string and its 28" 5/8 scale it's going to be a bit harder I think

I didn't have any problems going from my rg1527 to my rg7421xl. I have pretty big hands and i like the extra length. I have bigger problems when i pick up my Dean which is 24.75" or something like that.

I was a bass player first. It's pretty easy, really. Better for me too, considering how wide my fingers are.

Question authority. Don't ask why, just do it.

I have small hands and play bass (I mean seriously, taking lessons and auditioning for bands)
It's all in the head

No long at all. My hands adapt super quick though. It took me seconds to adjust to my first seven.
Just have a proper warm up before practice, and you'll be fine.
