Kelstone "string-based instrument"

Kinda looks like a cross between a Chapman Stick and a Lap Steel. Interesting idea for connecting two via a damping pedal.

they should make one that´s the other way around, where the strings are facing away from you, so they´re like piano keys... and then there´s a fretting-area where you tap the string, and the actual frets are at the same place along the whole length of the instrument, but the length of the strings and their thicknesses beyond the fret is what defines their pitch... anyone else think this could be a cool idea?

The idea is pretty cool but how are going to dampen all the strings you aren't playing? it would need an auto dampening system
but it's certainly doable. |
